Driggs Elementary School - Driggs, ID
Spring of 2020 will be one of a new begging of Driggs Elementary School as Full Circle Education gears up to incorporate a pilot (in-class) garden program for the second grade. The second graders will grow and learn about micro greens in their brand new classrooms this spring. Before school gets out, they will take a field trip to Full Circle Farm to learn about farm seedlings, how they start, where they go, and what soil will surround them for summer veggies. We look forward to assessing this program, in hopes to grow a garden program for the whole school in the future.
In the Past, Full Circle Education has worked with the preschool class each fall to set up a composting worm bin. Students build a healthy habitat for their worms and feed them scraps from snack time. The students love exploring the life of earthworms and learning about how they can help recycle our waste! We have also led field trips with various grade levels to Cosmic Apple Gardens. Students explore a diverse organic farm ecosystem while tasting delicious foods harvested from the farm, meeting the friendly farm animals, and learning about the important connections between the plants and animals on the farm.
