Teton High School - Driggs, ID

Full Circle Education has worked with individual teachers at Teton High School to facilitate farm and garden projects that meet specific academic standards and goals. These projects have included setting up and experimenting with an aquaponics system in an environmental science classroom. Students learned firsthand about nutrient cycling by connecting a fish tank with a bed of greens using an irrigation system that fertilized the plants with the waste water from the fish tank. Another project involved working with a science teacher to start tomato, pepper and herb seeds in the classroom while learning about the history of plants and their cultural connections. Students in a botany class transplanted those same plants to the Middle School Greenhouse with the help of Full Circle Education. We have also worked with a special services teacher and her students to practice skills in growing, harvesting, and preparing foods grown in the greenhouse.
